Biographical Info
Natashia is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in sex therapy through group work and with individuals as well as those in relationship. Natashia holds niche expertise in working with issues related to desire, sexual abuse, sexual fluidity, sexuality and parenting, sexuality and life transitions, deepening insights around shame learned through socio-cultural experiences and norms while increasing sense of self-acceptance, connection and belonging. Natashia is originally from NYC with family roots from Brazil and Eastern Europe. Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, Natashia integrates mindfulness-based somatic therapy with social justice orientations incorporating feminist and queer theory. Natashia also leads a special kind of therapy process group, where sexuality relating to desire, attraction, body feelings and social identities are invited to be explored--acknowledging sexuality is a part of so many of our relational experiences and being open about it can pave avenues for healing and greater intimacy/belonging. Natashia has a long history of facilitating other groups for Perinatal Care Providers, gestational parents, and therapist consultation groups. Natashia is a PhD student at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco studying Critical Sexualities Studies and is a nationally certified sex therapist with the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists. Natashia studies group therapy with her mentors who lead the satellite program in Mallorca, Spain through the Center for Group Studies. The reason group therapy is so important in her/their mind is because we don't experience wounding on our own and we don't heal most often in solitary ways....we are interdependent beings and in group, with more than just the therapist, relational healing and growing can take place.
