It’s the heart that knows the path. The mind is just there to organize the steps.â€â€” Jeff BrownI VIEW PSYCHOTHERAPY AS A COLLABORATIVE PROCESS BETWEEN THERAPIST AND CLIENT, AN ENCOUNTER BETWEEN EQUALS, WHERE THE RELATIONSHIP ITSELF IS HEALING.My style is active, creative, and holistic. I will meet you where you are, not-judging, engaged and curious. I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, shame, relationship distress, life transitions, and existential dilemmas (questions about the meaning of life, questions about dying and death). I also have experience working with individuals struggling with dual diagnosis (addiction and mental health issues combined). The theoretical approaches that I use in my work are: Humanistic (Gestalt, Client Centered, and Existential), Holistic/Integrative, Relational, and Transpersonal. Although I am grounded in clinical training and theory, I work from intuition and lived experience. I value authenticity and transparency, and strive to bring that to all my interactions.A 25-year career as a first responder supplied me with a deep reservoir of life experience, and a strong belief in the resilience of the human spirit. Interests include: intimacy/attachment issues, substance use and behavioral process addictions, and issues related to body image. LGBTQ kink, and poly friendly. Please visit my website for more information.SPECIALIZATIONSAnxiety and DepressionTrauma ShameRelationship DistressLife Transitions Existential Dilemmas Addiction Dual Diagnosis OFFICE LOCATIONSConvenient Berkeley location TELEPHONE: (415) 756-3981
