Biographical Info
Hello! My name is Dax (they/them) and I am an associate social worker and board-certified music therapist. I aim to provide therapy that is anti-racist, accessible, queer affirming, sex and body positive, kink aware, trauma informed, and accepting of all relationship styles. I believe that when we acknowledge a person's full humanity and the importance of our connection to each other, we strengthen and enrich our community as a whole.

Being a clinician in mental health for the past seven years has provided me with the unique opportunity to witness and support people experiencing a wide array of difficulties across the lifespan. My current focus is providing individual and relationship teletherapy to LGBTQIA2S+ teens and adults experiencing life transitions and wanting to heal from trauma, depression, and anxiety. As a member of the queer and trans communities, I am also passionate about working with people who are exploring sexuality, gender expression, and gender identity. I am able to provide assessments and letters for gender-affirming medical services if that is a part of your journey.

We might work well together if you are seeking therapy to:

- Explore sexuality, gender identity, and gender expression
- Experience more intimacy and connection with others
- Learn how to set boundaries in a way that makes sense for you
- Feel less overwhelmed by emotions without feeling numb
- Heal from trauma so you can live your life
- Make time for yourself without feeling guilty
- Experience feelings of worthiness in contrast to feeling “not good enough”
- Cultivate hope, motivation, creativity, and playfulness

Depending on client needs and preferences, I draw upon various practices including mindfulness, attachment-based approaches, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Since healing comes in many forms, I offer the incorporation of music if you wish. I also welcome other forms of expression that bring you harmony and balance.

I hold a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy. When I am not with clients or making music, you can find me walking in nature, engrossed in a book, or playing with my feisty cat.
