[In solidarity with BIPOC therapists who have not been supported through BAOM, I will not be renewing my membership as an act of dissent.] You feel like you work tirelessly to get it "right" and be "good." You're tense, on edge, and wonder if you're someone who just.. can't relax. Your nervous system is wired toward movement--you're going, going, going. It's what feels safe, but it's coming at a cost. Your relationships are suffering for it. You act out of your integrity within your most important relationships, often feeling confused and wondering, "Why did I do that?" Hi, I’m Luca. I am a queer, trans, non-binary, disabled mixed race therapist in Oakland, CA (unceded Chochenyo Ohlone Land). At my Lake Merritt office and online in the SF Bay Area and California, I work with LGBTQ+ adults and adult children of immigrants who feel limited by anxiety, perfectionism, codependency, and relationship issues. As an integrative therapist who values collaboration, I work with you to figure out what feels right for you and your body. This could be traditional talk therapy, or it could be IFS therapy and somatic therapy. I'm relational through and through, so whatever we choose, we'll be coming back to the therapy relationship to deepen insight into what safety, connection, and closeness feel like for you. Sometimes it's in the therapy relationship that people feel like they can fully show their vulnerable, authentic selves. And sometimes, or often, this can scare the shit out of people. However it goes, I'll be with you along the way, attuning to the pace and depth of therapy that makes the most sense for your nervous system. Whether we're meeting in Oakland or online throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and California, you'll find that I'm highly emotionally engaged. I'm leaning in, I'm listening with presence, I'm learning about how you have come to be. And I'm inviting you to surrender into who you'll become if--or when--you decide you're ready to put down the armor that no longer keeps you safe. In my work with queer, trans, genderfluid, 2nd generation, and adult children of immigrants in Oakland and online, I feel passionate about working with people who are courageously asking themselves: What are my patterns costing me? What am I willing to risk in order to feel more free and connected? Who can I become when I let go? I can't wait to see where these questions take us.
