I work with poly and monogamous couples experiencing communication conflict, attachment and intimacy challenges, poly exploration, as well as individuals and professionals experiencing depression and anxiety, addiction and trauma.
My style is compassionate yet direct and our sessions are experiential to enable lasting desired change in your life. When working with couples, I use an effective approach called Emotionally Focused Therapy, which is an attachment-based therapy backed up by 20 years of empirical research, and is considered a proven form of couple therapy by the American Psychological Association.
I self-identify as a white queer-informed cis-woman and I work with individuals and couples ranging in age, sexual orientation, lifestyle, ethnicity, religion, and acculturation with a sex-positive approach. I strongly believe in the open minds mission and I ask all clients to bring their whole self and all their identities into the room so they can be heard.
I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, expressive arts, and crisis counseling. My background in executive coaching and as a former executive give me perspective into the unique challenges of my client's professional lives. I am also a longtime yoga & meditation teacher (RYT 500) and have served as a crisis counselor, helping community members in their most vulnerable moments.
